Refreshing Carpet Dents
The couch has been in the same spot for years.
You finally decided to move it and now you have an indent where the leg used to sit.
One way to try to revive your carpeting is to place an ice cube in the indent.
As the ice cube slowly melts it will add moisture to help the carpeting fluff back up a bit.
I tried the ice cube trick, but had no luck. Any other "heavy duty" suggestions?
I just bought this house,I doubt in the 14 years the previous owners lived there, that they ever moved the furniture.
Wonderful carpet, but 50 DEEP dents.
You can try this: http://www.householdhintsandtips.com/cleaning.shtml except use plain water. As soon as you remove the iron, use a fork and gently lift the pile.
Take a real good look at the carpet, if the furniture sat in the same place for a long time it might have also compressed the pad under the carpeting which will make the hole appear deeper. Unfortunately there is no easy fix that I know of to bring back squashed foam.
Good luck!
