You have just about had it. The neighborhood dogs keep dumping your trash can and you are getting tired of going out and cleaning it up.

You can try to deter the dogs by soaking a rag in ammonia and tying it onto the handle.

The dogs should be repelled by the smell.

You might have to refresh this every day or so, but after a while the dogs will no longer be interested.
