Cleaning Carpet Spots

OK, so the kids had their favorite juice and spilled it all over the carpet. You have tried every cleaner on the market and there is still a huge pink spot on your carpet.

This is an easy cleaning method that works on most carpets for most food spills.

Grab a bowl, some Dawn dish washing soap (I have not tried other brands to know their effectiveness) a large towel (disposable), and an iron.

Mix 2 cups water with one teaspoon of Dawn.

Using your fingers, sprinkle the liquid liberally over the spot.

Place the dry towel over the spot.

Set your iron on the lowest setting and set on the towel over the spot.

Let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Supervise this closely and do not leave it unattended.

Lift the iron and you will see the stain magically transferred to the towel.

If more of the spot remains, repeat the process using another area of the towel until you have the results that you are looking for.

This will work on stains that have been there for ages also. May just take a bit longer.
